Deborah Halpern is a great contributor to community projects. The eye-catching nature of her work can be seen dotted around the City of Melbourne in particular. Halpern’s contributions add vibrancy and aliveness to their homes which can be enjoyed by all.
Some of her most recent community projects include the the 2012 ‘Mali’ sculpture which was commissioned by the City of Melbourne to commemorate the 150-year Celebrations of Melbourne Zoo which was featured outside the Melbourne Town Hall. In 2013, she was commissioned by the Victorian Government for an art project with the Fitzroy Housing Commission, three sculptures were created. In 2009, Deborah worked with the school community of Urquhart Park Primary School in Ballarat, Victoria to create a large community art piece to reside at the school.
Today, with her sculptural pieces fetching handsome sums, Halpern donates up to $25,000 annually to a number of charitable organisations.
There’s nothing quite like a Deborah Halpern piece.
